I just love difficult cases where everything just seems to work out perfectly: the patient does what they are supposed to, and so do the teeth 🦷! This patient presented with an anterior (front) cross-bite that was leading to premature chipping and wear of his front teeth. This was an AP (anterior-posterior) bite correction case using Class III elastics (rubber bands) and the Invisalign system. Treatment time was almost two years… but the results 🤩
This was a fun one! 🤩 Patient wanted to replace the failing crown on tooth #8 as well as address the fracture and rotation on tooth #9 (two front teeth.) Patient was given the option of sending her case to a high end lab, but she declined and we decided to make her crowns in-house using CEREC. 🦷 Obviously matching the shade was going to be VERY difficult due to the value change in her tooth shades. 🙏🏽 After milling the lithium disilicate eMax crowns, we stained and glazed them ourselves. We tried them in and….. THEY LOOKED AWFUL 😢 So we took a close look at how her teeth transition from an “A” shade to a “C” shade. We paid attention to where these transitions happen on the tooth, and we were able to use stains to match it as closely as possible. The final result was stunning 🤩 I think I was happier than the patient, but that’s ok 😂
Making another patient proud to smile is a great feeling. 😃 This patient presented with a desire to fix her smile. We were able to achieve this with Invisalign and corrected her crowding and rotated teeth. She was happy and so were we!
Nothing makes me happier than helping someone smile bigger. 😁 That's one of the reasons I became a dentist, and it’s a satisfaction that is hard to put into words. 🙂 This patient presented with failing veneers 4-13 placed many years ago. As you can see in the first photo, there is a lack of anatomy, poor shade, no translucency and some gum recession makes the situation worse!! 😩 We were able to work with our great lab Gutierrez Dental Lab to deliver this amazing result! 💪🏽 From the original smile design to @lauriemariee working hard on the temporaries, we delivered a great result that changed someone’s life!
This patient presented with loss of posterior (back) teeth, anterior (front) crossbite, multiple areas of decay, as well as Class II mobility on her upper anterior teeth. She was referred by her brother whom I had done a smile design for previously. Steps (some dental jargon): 1. Stabilize the periodontal (gum) health 2. Restore teeth with composite (white) fillings to control decay 3. Correct the anterior crossbite and correct overall bite with Invisalign 4. Prepare teeth 6-11 for E-Max Crowns and performed an occlusal equilibration in centric relation to balance forces on the proper teeth to reduce the trauma on her front teeth. Placed her in a splinted temp for an extended time to aid with reducing mobility Re-evaluated to determine periodontal prognosis once occlusal interferences were eliminated. 5. Impression, custom shade and delivery. Implants placed in location of #s 3 and 13 to stabilize occlusion.
